The Reason Why Your Proposal Just Isn't Cutting It Anymore
That would be my best friend’s fault, Gavin.
He’s the one that proposed to his bride-to-be, Karissa, at the Seattle Arboretum on a beautiful summer night, the same spot they had their second date and second kiss, while his best friend (me) hid in the bushes and documented it all. Oh, I almost forgot, there was a puppy in there too.
Gavin and I had sat down for some beers awhile back and I had brought up the subject of when the hell he was going to ask Karissa to marry him. “Well, I’m just not sure if I want to get a puppy for us first or the ring” was his response. We both looked at each and in unison said “What about a puppy AND a ring?!?!”
And so the plan was hatched, though months went by before it would come into fruition. It just so happened that our friend Leta’s family had some little German Shepard puppies recently. And it just so happened that one was left over, a sweet little girl, Ava.
Meet Ava, and note the ring on the collar.
Ava waited very patiently for them to arrive.
And Karissa was all like “O.M.G. you got me a puppppppy”
And Gavin was all like “Well, yeah, ya knowwwww”
This is Gavin’s “She still hasn’t noticed the frickin ring on the collar” face.
And this is Karissa’s “Wait, why is Kyle here taking photos?” face.
There ya go….
And so he asked….
And she said yes!
Some tears of happiness were shed…
So congratulations to two (or shall I say three?) of my best friends and favorite people, I’m so excited for you two.
